Revegetation design
We specialise in multi-purpose native plantings in agricultural landscapes, utilising your property’s unique natural assets. We tailor the design and species selection using locally endemic native species suitable for your landscape, remnant vegetation communities and revegetation purpose.
With 15 years’ practical experience in restoration, revegetation, ecological monitoring and research, we deliver high integrity revegetation projects underpinned by conservation and restoration science, agricultural science, and ecological best practice. With some sensible design, revegetation projects can benefit not just your agricultural enterprise, but also environmental, biodiversity and carbon assets on your property – critical considerations for the future and your bottom line.

Direct seeding
Woodland EcoSystems offers tailored, large-scale, mixed native species, direct seeding revegetation services. We customise a locally endemic seed mix of trees and shrubs appropriate for your region, landscape and project goals. Seeding is cheaper than traditional tube-stock planting, and offers additional advantages. Seeding can be undertaken during drier times, and germination will occur when environmental conditions improve and are suitable for each species. Given the viability and longevity of many native seeds, they can continue to germinate in a staggered fashion for several years following seeding. Plant spacing tends to be more ‘natural’ or random than tubestock planting due to design of seeding machinery. Seeding is quick – once it comes to sowing time, there is minimal work for the landholder, making it ideal for larger-scale projects. Direct seeding also eliminates root binding issues which may be present in tubestock.
Although seeding has many advantages, it is not suitable for every project. Steep, rough, rocky areas are generally not suitable due to site access issues. Open areas with easy equipment access are ideal for seeding. Where seeding is not suitable, tubestock or a combination of seeding and tubestock may be more appropriate. Regardless, we can still work with you to design your planting.
